out with the girls!

Oh yayy FINALLY i can upload photos!! :) But I have a 10am lecture tmr(which i overslept last wk:(), so I shall just put up the photos of the outing out with the girls! :) Haha as requested by our little bunny...

Met up with them on 6th August, which has been quite sometime yeah :P YY and Chui met up first to shop, (and apparently spending a BOMB -.-), while SY and I met them at 7! I went after my voluntary work, on my second last day. Sigh. So ANW! We went to...

Haha luckily I took a photo of that, otherwise I have no idea which restaurant did we go to! We went ION @Orchard btw, my first time there! There were many shops, though quite a few were a little over-the-budget. Haha. Basement shops were better :) It was also my first time going to Gusttimo; it was Chui who recommended the place.

Hmm I dunno why but my camera resolution seems quite bad, the photos don't look clear. Upon my request, we each took individual photos with our food. Muahhaa. Quite nice la!! :)

Our bunny enjoying her drink, which was suuuuuper chocolaty and quite nice!! It was some chocolate gelato (?!) drink and it was like drinking chocolate ice-cream! Haha! (Oh my SY your hair looks so long here, like Rapunzel!! Haha! :P)

Hmm I have no idea why but SY looks as if she is planning to stab her food! Haha :P

Chui and me with our Bolognese! Hmmm actually I feel that the menu is rather limited, although the price is still okay. The food was rather good, although the serving was smallllll. Didn't feel fully satisfied after finishing my food.

My drink was some biscuit gelato, tried it cos I've never seen it before. Hmm it tasted just like biscuit, haha, a little like cookies and cream. It wasn't too yummy though, I preferred SY's drink!

SY and YY with their 3 scoops of gelato, which took agesssssssss to come. And apparently the restaurant gave them the wrong orders; they ended up eating some weird not-very-nice flavours that they did not order. Oh they ordered the dark chocolate gelato, and it was my first time eating bitter ice-cream!! It's really not sweet, just bitter. If you are a dark-chocolate lover(like me), you might like it! Though I felt it was a tad too bitter.

Should be, will be going for CO tmr. It's really idiotic and irritating how I can't make up my mind whether to quit or not. I feel kinda wimpy, how I can't even muster up the courage to say "no". Sometimes I will think through things and decide to quit, yet when I think about not playing my dizis anymore, not performing with CO anymore, not seeing the friends that I made in CO anymore,my resolve just seems to dissolve. Sigh. I never seem to have the strong character in me to refuse, since young. I have a strong feeling that I will just continue to stay on, just like how it was in year 1 and year 2. Haha. It all boils down to the choice between time and friendship(and fun); both being so important to me!! I dunno, I REALLY DUNNO!!! :( And I feel really really apologetic to all my CO friends who have been encouraging me to stay, yet I am still so undecided. Sometimes sitting on the fence is not easy, when you realise that the fence is really pricky. HAHA. tsk.

First week of school flew by really quickly, since tutorials have not started. How I wish school can be always so easy and carefree, how i wish.

New blogskin...(again)...

I think I'm done with my blogskin!! Haha it still looks abit weird I know, but I've already done what I've could. I guess we all have to live with some imperfections with life! Hoho :P

Have ended my stint at Metta Student Care centre, was helping out as a teacher to guide the children in their homework. It was a totally enjoyable 4 weeks, and I am really thankful that I have volunteered there. :)))) It's impossible to note down all the little details that happened, or the numerous sweet moments that I experienced. But no matter how minor, I will keep them close to my heart and in my memories. <3 I took aloooot of photos of the kids that I helped out with, although alot are kinda candid and not very well taken. Haha. It's not easy to get them to pose for pictures!! They either refuse to look into the camera, or make some funny silly faces. Hahaha! But THAT'S how children are, i guess. Muahaha! Will probably post some nicer ones here next time.

Was fighting back my tears a few times on my last day; it was so saddening to think that I will not be coming back anymore to teach them. This one month has seemed to fly past so quickly, I can't hold it back no matter how much i try. I was "savouring" my last bus ride to the centre, my last walk into the centre, my last time stepping into the classroom, my last time seeing the children sleep.... Haha. I know i sound so emotional, but all I can say is that this experience is really a precious one to me. :) The teachers there have been really nice to me, and although I don't agree with some of the things that they do or say sometimes (just sometimes only la :P), I still appreciate all the help and kindness they rendered to me. They were saying that I could drop by when I'm free, or even help out again in December. Hopefully I will have the chance to go back there again, to visit all the lovable children and nice teachers!! :)

There's this two Primary 5 kids that I'm especially worried about, cos I feel that their standards are wayyyy behind what they should be. They are also rather naughty, though not in the bad sense. They tend to be rather mischevious, but they will still listen when I reprimand them. I am so afraid that they will give up, and choose the "easy" way out by turning bad. What I've heard so far about them in school are not too good, but I can tell that their personalities and characters are very ok. I feel that they are in the crucial stage now, when they need alot of correct and proper guidance. The student care teachers are definitely able to keep them in check, but there are so many students in the centre, it's hard to give them all the attention that they need. Their foundations are also sooo weak, it's not what a little more guidance can help. It's a matter of weeks, maybe even months. On the last day, I kept telling them that they must do their work properly and seriously, must try their best always, not to fight in school, blahhh... haha, like a really naggy granny. They just kept saying "orh, orh, orh", but I know it takes more than just a few words to really have an effect on them. Sigh. Just hope that they will do their best and improve soon. :)

Haha I think if I'm to write about every student in the class I can spend hours here!! But through this I've realised how much I love to work with children, how much I want to help those in need. I hope that my career in future will involve working with children, shall work towards my goal!!! :)

3 days to go............................................

Three more days and I'm going to stop my voluntary work at the student care. Sighs! :( I'm sure going to miss the kids there!! They are suuuuper cute and innocent, like little angels :) I feel so happy with them, I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be with them. They seemed to have brought back some of the childlike innocence in me; why think so much?

I think it's time for me to clear some of the cobwebs here! *blows* Haha! Have been back from Poland/Czech/Austria for like 3 weeks already!! Keep wanting to blog about the trip, but since I started volunteering have been feeling lazy. hehe :P Since it's 1253am now, I shall write about the trip another time. But I must say, it was a wonderful trip, an awesome experience!! :) Got to compete overseas, WIN A GRAND PRIX overseas, perform overseas, travel, and of course getting to know a great bunch of people!! This trip really changed my perceptions of some people, mostly in the good sense la!!!! :D:D:D If not for this trip, I wouldnt have had so many experiences and fun, wouldnt have yet opened my eyes to Europe, YEAH! :)

Having some module headaches now, still in the bidding process. More or less I've confirmed the mods that I am taking, and I hope that I will do WELL this sem!!!! jiayou!

I've been watching alot, really ALOT of SS501 vids on youtube! HAHA. I really can't wait for them to come to Singapore!So I can become a crazy fangirl!! hohoho. I LOVE their stage presence, and their dancing is totally WOW! :) And I keep telling whoever that is willing to listen that they are REALLY cute on shows, and interviews. Every vid of them makes me laugh at all their funny antics and comments. They look so natural on camera, it feels as if they are really as how they are seen on tv. I guess that's not always possible, but considering the tons and tons of shows that they are on, they are really quite consistently goofy and dorky. LOL. So THAT should at least be what they really are?? Haha! Okokokokokok! I noe I'm starting to sound long-winded :P Aiya but must watch to understand u know! hahaha.

Off to POLAND!!!!!

WHEEEEEE!! Hahaha! Honestly I'm not as excited as I thought I would be, although the excitement is building up..... :D It's about 6 more hours to departure, yayyyy! I will be going to Poland with NUSCO for a competition from 28th to 3rd July, and from 4th June onwards we'll be touring in Salzburg in Czech Republic and Vienna in Austria. Will be coming back on the 10th July!

Haha I wanted to do a proper post, but I keep remembering of things to do and pack, keep rushing off. Hoho shall keep this short! Really hope that we can win something back; representing Singapore, representing NUS. :) I'm sure all of us will do our best there, so..just hoping for the best!!! This is my first time going Europe, my first time going overseas for a competition, my first time travelling so loooong on a plane (with no inflight entertainment OMG) ....countless first times! Hehe :)

Wheee! Finally an update! Haha.. Actually it's not that I don't have time, but there just doesn't seem anything worth talking about. Life has been super UNhappening!!!! Except for occasionally going out, going for CO pracs, watching SS501 vids on youtube(!!!!!!!!!), there's really nothing much going on. I've been trying to get tuition assignments since the beginning of this month, but till now there's NOTHING!!!! A R G H. The countless times I emailed and sms-ed. :( I was thisssssss close to getting an assignment yesterday; the kid stays in my neighbourhood, a different block from mine, just a few mins walk away. Everything was going fine, and the agent was about to give me the address of the kid, until I told her I'll be away from Singapore and I'll miss 2 weeks of lessons. Her tone immediately changed, and she just said "I'll call you back again". I KNEW, she wouldn't call back. Sigh. A wonderful opportunity wasted!!! I really wanted a tuition assignment near my house, so it'll be very convenient when I travel to teach. Oh well, I can evilly pray that no one will take the assignment, so that when I'm back from Poland I can start tuitioning the kid. HA riiiight.

I have been trying to find volunteer work to do too. Have given up the thought of searching for a job. It's soooo hard to find, and my schedule doesn't seem too good too. I never expected, it's not easy to find voluntary work too!!!! Gosh. I called 3 organizations; 1 follows normal school cirriculum, which means that the students are not in school during holidays too so they do not need volunteers. The 2nd organization I called, the children are usually brought out by corporates, and I guess these corporates have events lined up for them, so similarly, they do need need volunteers. The 3rd organization that I called sounded quite friendly, and the person-in-charge asked me to email her so she can liase with me. After days of waiting for her reply, I finally got it today! Haha! And yayness, I can go down during the month of July! Will be helping the P6 children everyday from 2-6, which means tutoring them I suppose. This is my first time finding voluntary work on my own, and going down on my own! *clap clap* HAHAHA it's nothing much but I still feel quite happy with myself hehehe :P I've always been interested to work with young kids, so when I was looking for volunteer work I checked out those that are helping this group. I guess this is a good form of exposure and experience, and I can do something to help children in need! Probably not very much, but I do hope I can achieve something by putting in my bit of effort! :)

The one sad thing is that I wouldn't have any holiday income, sigh. :( Instead I'm spending so much more..AHHHHH well.. But thinking on the bright side, at least i'm not going to continue to waste my holidays! haha. Always look on the bright side of life(hums the adidas or nike?? tune)..

ok I am off to watch SS501 vids on youtube! muahaha! They are really really cute and they sing very well!!!! Hahaha! Nites!

new blogskin!

I finally changed my blogskin!! I like it alot, cos it has a cheerful look to it. :) Was looking for something cheerful, so it can brighten up one's mood after looking even if it's just by a teeny weeny bit. hehe. BUT! It only plays my blog song if you click on the "others" page, which I don't like. I prefer the song to play once I get onto the page. I know some will just shut off the music, which I do sometimes too if the song is one that I don't fancy. But I love the effect of having the song that I like being played in the background while reading my blogposts, it feels so...personalised. Haha.. And I've ever fallen in love with a song which I heard on a random person's blog. Hmm so..I'll probably change this layout again, but not for the moment i guess. I realise it takes quite a bit of time to choose a design that I like, upload it into blogger, then change the details to my own. Have never been good at such IT stuffs, so it's really quite agonising doing all these nitty gritty details!

It's been sweltering hot these days!!! arghhh, make me feel so warm and sticky and uncomfortable. Drink more water, people! Haha :)

Have been listening to this Korean song called "Nobody" by a group called Wonder girls. Got hooked on it after watching Kim Hyun Joong(Ji Hoo sun-bae in BOF) dance it. Haha! I think the previous sentence probably wouldn't make a lot of sense to alot of you, but I know some would get what I'm saying right! haha :) do listen to this catchy and cute song! It's a big hit in Korea I think. Fast forward to 2 mins for the actual song, the front part of the mv is a little draggy...




I want to learn the dance!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Finally, an update!!

Ah! I think it's time to do a good update, hehe... Actually I had a post that was halfway done, but it's getting outdated everyday, cos I'm just too lazy to edit it! Haha!

Hmm life has been really really slack after exams, getting a little guilty! A liiitle la, haha... Still feel like "resting" a while more before I plan anything else. But anw, just finished watching "Boys Over Flowers", which is the Korean version of Meteor Garden. I'm totally absolutely hooked onto it, am a crazy fan of it now!! Haha! Or rather, a crazy fan of the F4 in the show. MY GOODNESS, they are super uber HOT and DASHING and CHARMING and CHARASMATIC and SWEET and ROMANTIC and CUTE and...hahaha don't mind me!! Need to share my craze, hehehe :) Honestly I don't find the show particularly nice, but it's just the cast that's attracting me to it. They all look so good, and the clothes they wear are soooo suave and good-fitting on them!! And the places that they film are all soooo nice and high-class!! Oh and I love their uniform!! If only Singapore's school uniforms are half as nice as theirs! But oh well, I guess we'll all melt in the heat if we gotta wear blazers and high-knee socks everyday >.<

I think they totally win hands down as compared to the F4 in the Japanese and Taiwan version. No fight here!! They make the whole drama shine :D Been searching for NG scenes, and whatever news that I can get of them, LOL! And I'm thinking of rewatching the drama one more time, wahaha!! Actually watching this has re-fired my interest in Korean, and I can try to learn as I watch the show, not too bad too? :P I think a good way to learn the language is also from their songs, which I've been replaying continuously for the past few days! haha! But there's a difference between formal and informal use in Korean, which is so confusing to me. Found a "teacher" to teach me, hahaha :P She's so patient with all my questions that I keep bugging her with, and she's really quite pro despite learning only for 2 sems! Thanks Karin!! :)

Wanted to dedicate a part of my post to YY like how I did with KL, but it's been a week since she left, so sorry!! She should be able to have internet connection from where she's staying now, and we've met on msn a few times already. But oh well, it's the thought that counts right! Haha so YY!!! This is for you!! Hope you've settled down proper in Thailand, and hope that you're enjoying urself there!! So far it seems as if everything is going well yeah, may things go well for the next 1 month! :) It's quite weird not having you in Singapore!! Haha! Considering we've known each other since 2001, it's the 9th year already!! WOAH it's kinda scary when you count it..lol.. And we've always met up quite frequently, especially for CO pracs.. hehehe... looking forward to going Poland with you!! Take lotsa care, see you when u r back!!! NYCO 05/06 batch family photo! Haha..Glad to see so many turn up for dinner! Really miss the days in NYCO; life was fun and carefree! Everyone has grown up, but we can still crap and joke like last time, I'm glad the "feeling" is still there. Hehe :)

Uploading photos is quite a troublesome chore! argh. But I like to have photos in my post, it's like a timeline diary, I can look back and see what I did, where I went, with whom. When I read other people's blogs I like those that have photos too, doesn't feel so wordy and boring.

Went with yy, karin, enoch and yongxue to the zoo the day right after the Sentosa gathering. My gosh, my legs were aching from all the numerous jump shots, really have no idea how i managed to drag myself around the zoo!! haha!
